Those winter days

Right now I am right in the middle of two seasons, ice fishing and open water fishing seasons. At this time of the year the waters or New York are too thick to open water fish but too thin to go ice fishing, I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MYSELF!!!

I have recently decided that at this time of the year every year i'm going to gather all of my fishing stuff, sort it out keeping what I want/need and getting rid of what i don't. This is a great thing to do on all of those days, sort out the tackle and downsize, make room for those new spring release lures and all those that you read about in the BASSMASTER magazine, which i might add is the best magazine out there for fishing information. Thats another thing i do on these days, find every bassmaster magazine and read them from the front cover to the back cover, finding all the info and new lures that I can possibly find to fill both my brain and my tackle box.

You also find all of your hard lures (e.g. crankbaits, topwater, or anything else with trihooks) and replace all of the hooks on the lures with sharper stronger hooks. Also clean off the lures make sure they look real nice, this gives you much more confidence when using them. Another great thing to do is gather all of the fishing rods and reels that you use during the fisihng season, clean them, repair them, and respool them with brandnew line.

These are just some things that anyone can do to make those winter days go by a little quicker, while also making sure all of your equipment is in tiptop condition and will be as efficient as possible for the upcoming season.
